AUCKLAND/NEW YORK: Mediaworks NZ’s new entertainment channel FOUR (recently rebranded from the music network C4) has reached a deal with Sesame Workshop to air Sesame Street every morning beginning February 7.

The New Zealand network will air the show from 6 a.m. 2 p.m. “Sesame Workshop is the gold standard in educational children’s televisions,” said Ben Quinn, FOUR’s head of programming. “We at FOUR are tickled pink, red, blue and yellow to become a home for the colorful friends of Sesame Street who will bring endless hours of laughter and enjoyment to our children in New Zealand.”

Scott Chambers, senior VP of worldwide media distribution at Sesame Workshop, added, “Together with FOUR, we are offering another generation of children an opportunity to become engaged with content that better prepares them for school and encourages them to discover the world beyond their street.”
