Second Season Under Way from Numberjacks

SYDNEY, January 7: Beyond
Distribution has picked up a second season of 20 15-minute episodes of Numberjacks that is currently in production for delivery
throughout 2009.

The first season currently
airs in more than 40 countries, with Beyond securing deals in territories such
as the U.S., Canada, Australia, Hong Kong and Russia, among others. The HD
series, part CGI, part live action, uses advanced problem solving and
mathematics in a fun way for preschoolers. The show is structured in a way
similar to a scientific investigation, and the familiar and repeated format
enables the program content to be more varied and challenging. Numberjacks is produced by Open Mind Productions for CBeebies.

Nick Underwood, the
producer of Numberjacks,
commented, "We are delighted to have received a commission from the BBC
for a second series of Numberjacks
and equally pleased to be able to appoint Beyond Distribution as our
representatives for international television and DVD rights on these new shows.
The first series is now airing in many countries around the world and the
audience response has been truly fantastic. A second series of Numberjacks ensures a long-term future for the show, so we're
very pleased that Numberjacks
will be around for young children to enjoy for many years to come."

Fiona
Crago, the general manger of Beyond Distribution, said, "The
educational content and structure of Numberjacks really translates across international audiences.
The high production quality and broad appeal has meant it has been a delight
for Beyond to represent in the international market. Numberjacks has developed into a brand recognized worldwide
and the phenomenon is set to continue with the announcement of the continuing
series."
