Second Season of Little Princess to Premiere in September

LONDON, August 14: TV-Loonland’s successful preschool
property Little Princess has been
renewed for a second season on Five, with the new episodes set to air during
the Milkshake! block beginning
next month.

The renewal follows the success of the first season on both Milkshake and Five Life. Produced by The Illuminated Film
Company, Little Princess scored
the top slot for 4- to 6-year-olds on terrestrial TV in the U.K. in March 2007.
It has also been sold in more than 100 countries, and the DVD was successfully
released worldwide earlier this year. The company has also rolled out a website
dedicated to the show for both parents and children.

The 35×11-minute animated series follows the Little
Princess, whose adventures present a child’s view of life as she deals with
things that young children like, dislike and worry about. The show is aimed at
children 2- to 6-years-old, and is based on the best-selling children’s picture
books by Tony Ross.

Future plans for the property include a toy line, with
master toy licensee Martin Yaffe International, due in stores in early 2008.
Two new book releases by Andersen Press are also scheduled for release this
fall. The first eight Little Princess titles
have sold 2.5 million copies worldwide within the first three months of
publication. TV-Loonland also plans to continue their comprehensive licensing
program throughout the year and into 2008.

“With strong scripts and great production values, this
endearing show has already proven to be extremely popular with young viewers on
Five,” said Olivier Dumont, the managing director of TV-Loonland. “We are
confident the second series will build on this success and appeal to an even
wider audience, with a strong line-up of new episodes and adventures.”
