Screentime Executive Chairman Steps Down

SYDNEY: Des Monaghan has decided to step down as the executive chairman of the Screentime Group at the end of May.

Monaghan established Screentime 18 years ago with business partner Bob Campbell. He will continue his association with the company as a consultant and producer on a couple of projects he is already committed to. He will continue to take direct responsibility for Batavia through to delivery.

Starting in June, Campbell will head the company in his capacity as managing director.

Monaghan said: “It has been a fantastic 18 years and I have had the very great fortune of having Bob Campbell as my business partner. It is fair to say that the success of the company far exceeded our initial expectations.

“It has been an extraordinary privilege to work with such a talented and dynamic team, and I am looking forward to watching the company continue to grow under Bob’s leadership, and with the considerable advantage of now being a part of the fast growing Banijay Group.

“This year we have a wonderful slate of programming already delivered to the Networks, and a variety of productions in various stages of development and preproduction.”

Campbell added: “Des and I have enjoyed the closest of professional and personal relationships since we set up Screentime, and I look forward to this continuing.

”His contribution to the company has been immeasurable and the strong creative and development teams have benefitted, and will continue to benefit, from his energy, experience and judgment.”
