Scream Channel to Rebrand as Dusk

TORONTO: Corus Entertainment is relaunching its Scream channel as Dusk as of September 9, with the new service expanding its programming lineup to appeal to a broader demographic.

Dusk will include a more extensive roster of movie titles and series in the suspense, thriller and supernatural genres. Targeting the 18-to-49 demographic, Dusk will air 24/7, with titles such as the fourth season of Supernatural, alongside films like The Black Dahlia, Along Came a Spider, Corpse Bride, The Skeleton Key and The Gift. Dusk is a partnership between Corus Entertainment and Canwest Global Communications.

“Dusk’s visually dramatic new on-air look and schedule builds on the huge popularity of suspense and thriller-based programming, and the growing fascination with supernatural, paranormal-themed films and television series,” said Jim Johnson, the VP of marketing for Dusk. “This combination of genres will provide a new viewer experience that will satisfy audience’s appetite for suspense-fueled programs that combine fear and desire with darkness and excitement.”
