Science Channel Adds Two to Team

SILVER SPRING: Dexter Cole has been named VP of programming at Science Channel, while Bernadette McDaid has been hired as the VP of production.

In the role of VP of programming, Cole will oversee the programming and scheduling strategy for the network. He is also responsible for acquisitions. Previously, Cole served as VP of research at TV One. Prior to this, Cole served a ten-year tenure at Discovery Communications.

McDaid, the new VP of production, will oversee Science Channel’s production team internally and will manage all relationships with external production partners. Whe will also work with the development team. McDaid most recently served as executive producer at Darlow Smithson. Prior to this, she held production and development roles at a number of companies, including InVision Productions, Powderhouse and Diverse. She also served as producer and director for the BBC.

Cole and McDaid will report to Debbie Myers, the general manager and executive VP of programming at Science Channel.
