SCI FI Channel to Premiere Derren Brown Project

NEW YORK, March 23: SCI FI
Channel will premiere the U.S. version of the Derren Brown Project, inspired by the hit British entertainment series,
this July.

The still-untitled series,
consisting of six one-hour episodes, will be executive produced by Andrew
O'Conner and Michael Vine from Objective Productions from the U.K. The series
will feature the psychological illusionist Derren Brown,
who can seemingly predict and control human behavior. Described by the British
press as “mind-blowing,” “fascinating,” and “a warlock,” Brown can inspire
someone to rob an armored car or freely give up their car keys and wallet to a
stranger on the street simply because he asked for them.

Objective Productions has
produced a number of shows for a range of television broadcasters, including
Channel 4, the BBC, MTV, Five, E4, More4 and ITV. The company is moving beyond
its core expertise in comedy, entertainment and magic to now encompass factual,
documentary and current affairs projects.
