Savalle Sims Named General Counsel at Discovery Communications

Savalle Sims has been promoted to the role of general counsel at Discovery Communications.

In this position, Sims will lead Discovery’s global legal teams, managing lawyers and all legal issues on behalf of the company in nearly 20 worldwide offices. Sims most recently served as deputy general counsel, managing Discovery’s litigation and trademark legal teams and handling all legal efforts concerning Discovery’s intellectual property, including trademark, patent and copyright portfolios. Prior to that, Sims was the senior VP of litigation and intellectual property for Discovery. She will continue to report to Bruce Campbell, the chief development of distribution and legal officer for Discovery Communications. Discovery’s board of directors is expected to formally approve Sims’ appointment as an executive officer in May.
