Sassa Tapped for Hearst Post

NEW YORK, December 5:
Scott Sassa has been named president of Hearst Entertainment & Syndication,
overseeing the company's financial stakes in ESPN,
Lifetime, A&E and History Channel, as well as its TV production and
distribution arms, newspaper syndication and merchandise licensing.

He will also
become the senior VP of Hearst Corporation. Bruce Paisner, who has served as
the executive VP of the group, is retiring after 27 years at Hearst and will
become a consultant to the company.

After a seven-year tenure
at NBC in various top programming posts, Sassa held a series of roles in
digital media, including as the president and CEO of Friendster,
CEO-in-residence at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and, most recently,
the founder and CEO of Uber.com.

"We are confident
that Scott, who has successfully developed and led some of the entertainment
industry's most recognized brands, is ideally suited to accomplish Hearst's
goals moving forward in a time of media evolution," said Frank Bennack
Jr., the vice chairman and CEO of Hearst.
