MADRID: On the heels of last week's MIPTV, RTVE is talking to buyers from around the globe about the series El Ministerio del Tiempo and Acacias 38.

For El Ministerio del Tiempo, format negotiations have begun in collaboration with Onza Entertainment in the U.S., Latin America, France and Russia. A number of broadcasters have also shown an interest in Acacias 38, which is meant to be aired in an afternoon time slot. RTVE is also talking to two major Italian channels about Seis Hermanas, and is continuing to draw attention for three seasons of Isabel and Víctor Ros.

RTVE signed new deals to distribute the channels TVE Internacional and 24 Horas through the pay-TV platforms of several countries in Africa, including Guinea, the Central African Republic, Gabon and Congo, as well as the U.K., Israel and the Netherlands. Discussions are also being had with new operators in Australia, Qatar and Canada, and with smart TV manufacturers looking to add TVE channels to their offering. Initial steps have been taken to distribute the new MIS (Made in Spain) channel in parts of Africa and Europe.

In other news, Prim, El Asesinato de la Calle del Turco and Víctor Ros received Gold World Medals at the 2015 New York Festivals International Television and Film Awards. The former, a historical thriller about the assassination of General Prim, won in the TV movie category, while the latter, a scripted production based on mystery novels, took the prize for best miniseries. The docuseries Un País para Comérselo was given a Finalist Certificate in the culinary program category. The winners were announced at a gala event in Las Vegas last week.
