Roger Bart to Host 35th International Emmy Awards Gala

NEW YORK, November 6: The International Academy of
Television Arts & Sciences has announced that screen and stage actor Roger
Bart will host the 35th International Emmy Awards Gala on November 19 in New
York.

Bart appears in Ridley Scott’s new movie American
Gangster
, alongside Denzel Washington and
Russell Crowe, and recently wrapped up the comedy sequel Harold &
Kumar 2
. On television, he played the role
of menacing pharmacist George Williams in the ABC drama Desperate
Housewives
, with other television credits
that include the Law & Order,
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and The George Carlin Show.
On Broadway, Bart will be starring in Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein.
He also originated the role of ‘Carmen
Ghia’ in The Producers, the
musical by Mel Brooks and director Susan Stroman.

Other celebrity presenters at the gala will include Law
& Order
star Sam Waterston, former Sopranos lead Lorraine Bracco, Constance Marie of The
George Lopez Show
, Alan Cumming (X-Men
2
, Cabaret), Rob Morrow (Northern Exposure), Eric Bogosian (Talk Radio) and George Wendt (Cheers, Hairspray).

French film and television star Carole Bouquet (Sex and
The City
, New York Stories) will present the Directorate Award to TF1 Group
Chairman, Patrick Le Lay.

International Emmy award nominees in attendance will include
actors and actresses such as Stephen Fry (U.K.), Takeshi Kitano (Japan), Muriel
Robin (France), Brenda Ngxoli (South Africa), Lazaro Ramos (Brazil), Victoria
Wood (U.K.), Lila Cabral (Brazil), Pierre Bokma (the Netherlands) and Bobby
AuYeung Chun Wah (Hong Kong).
