Red Media Scores HD, Cooking Content from Janson Media

HARRINGTON PARK/MOSCOW,
July 22: Moscow-based broadcaster Red Media Group has purchased more than 100
hours of content from Janson Media for its various new channels, including HD
Life and Kitchen TV.

HD Life, the first HDTV
channel to launch in Russia, is dedicated to documentaries shot in HD. For the
channel, Red Media acquired Discoveries… America, 51 hour-long episodes that chronicle America’s
history, people and culture filmed entirely in HD and produced by Bennett Watt
Entertainment. Other HD content acquired from Janson Media includes Water’s
Journey: The Hidden Rivers of Florida
,
A Night in Venice with Nova Era Live, Jim Knox’s Wild Zoofari,
Ultra Music Festival Experience
and Discoveries… Ireland.

For Kitchen TV, Red Media
purchased several shows including Chefs A’Field, which traces the origins of great meals; Chef’s
Story
, a 26-part series that
brings together 27 chefs to tell their story of culinary success; and Jacques
Pepin: Fast Food My Way
, 26
episodes featuring the chef’s recipes, quick tips and techniques.

Red Media specializes in
the production of niche channels for cable and satellite distribution. In the
last year, the company has launched eight thematic channels.
