RED CAPS Scores Presale

HELSINKI, October 7: RTL2
in Germany has licensed the TV and multimedia rights for the animated series RED
CAPS
, a co-production of Italy’s
Cartoon One and Finnish producer Epidem ZOT.

The 26×26-minute HD
series, supported by UNICEF, is aimed at 6- to 9-year-olds. It features the RED
CAPS, who are Santa’s team of dynamic helpers and are endowed with special
powers. The RED CAPS help children all over the world stand up for their rights
and take responsibility for the planet.

RED CAPS will be completed in February 2009, with brand
extensions planned such as a series of books, an Internet community and games,
a board game and a 3-D feature film, The Magic Crystal.

Maro Korkou, the head of sales at Cartoon One, said: “We’re delighted to
have RTL2 as our broadcast partner in Germany for RED CAPS. RTL2 is the
perfect home for this action adventure series and we look forward to the launch
of the TV series next year.”

Andrea Lang, the VP of animation and children’s programs at RTL2, added:
RED CAPS combines seasonal feelings with adventures and excitement, it is
European and for boys as well as for girls. We are very enthusiastic about the
