RealNetworks’ Film.com to Offer Free Streaming of Indie Movies

PARK CITY, January 22: RealNetworks’ new film and
entertainment site, Film.com, is introducing free streaming access to
full-length features along with information, interviews and background
information on the titles.

Film.com will showcase established and up-and-coming
filmmakers and their work throughout 2007 in its Movie of the Week feature,
which will be supported by in-movie sponsorship and advertising. GreenCine, a
San Francisco-based company with a library of independent films and documentary
features, will provide the site with its initial catalogue of movies. The first
movie to be featured is 24 Hours on Craigslist by director Michael Ferris Gibson and Zealot Pictures & Heretic
Films, documenting a random day-in-the-life on Craigslist in San Francisco.

"With our heritage of innovation in digital
entertainment, RealNetworks is ideally positioned to continue driving the
convergence of technology and entertainment throughout the daily lives of
consumers," said Elizabeth Coppinger, the VP of media software and
services for Real. "We will be able to showcase up-and-coming and independent
filmmakers and offer their films' exposure to an audience they might not
consistently reach."
