qubo Launches as 24-hour Digital Broadcast Channel

NEW YORK, January 8: qubo, the new television and multimedia
network for children, launched its 24/7 digital channel at 6:00 a.m. ET today
across ION Media Networks’ nationwide television station group.

The channel, which emphasizes literacy and positive values,
debuts digitally with an expanded line-up that features popular children’s
programming already airing on its analog blocks, along with eight titles from
its leading content partners. The additions include Nelvana’s Pecola, NBC Universal’s Boo! and Classic Media’s Theodore Tugboat.

Recently, qubo’s December 29 performance on ION’s main
network delivered increases in kids 2-11 of 170 percent versus its September
premiere week and 98 percent versus the previous week. Kids 6-11 increased 121
percent over premiere week and 19 percent from the previous week.

Future platform launches for qubo include an enhanced
interactive website and VOD services.
