Proper Television Names New Exec Producer

TORONTO: Laine Drewery is joining Canada’s Proper Television as executive producer to drive the expansion of the company’s specialist factual programming slate.

Drewery has some 25 years of experience in writing, directing, and producing. He has delivered documentaries, primarily in the science and history arenas, to clients such as CBC, BBC, Discovery Channel Canada, A&E, Discovery Networks International, National Geographic Television, PBS and History Television. Most recently, he wrote and directed Underground Railroad: The William Still Story for PBS.

“Laine is well known as a top-notch show doctor and show runner,” said Guy O’Sullivan, the president of Proper Television. “As an executive producer focusing mainly on specialist factual content, he will be invaluable in ensuring Proper manages its expanding roster without compromising the reputation we’ve worked so hard to build over the last six years. Plus, he’s ever so handsome.”

Drewery added, “I loved being a freelancer, but right now, I think Proper is the best place to be working in television. The company has a terrific reputation, outstanding people and it is going place I want to go.”
