NEW YORK: PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) reports that the entertainment, media and communications sector continues to draw interest from private-equity funds and forecasts further acquisitions and investments.

In its latest report on M&A activity, PwC notes that with high-profile acquisitions over the past several years, as well as middle-market investments, private equity’s influence in the E&M landscape has expanded. "As private equity investors continue to assess the cyclical and structural issues within certain E&M subsectors, PwC expects that interest to permeate even further via bolt-on acquisitions as well as new platform company investments." PwC also reports that well capitalized conglomerates are also interested in M&A activity as the market stabilizes.
