Principal Photography Date Set for New Ken Follett Series

MUNICH: The $43 million, eight-part adaptation of Ken Follett’s bestseller World Without End is slated to begin principal photography in early July in Hungary with Michael Caton-Jones as director, Tandem Communications announced today.

From Tandem and Take 5 Productions in association with Scott Free Productions (Ridley and Tony Scott), World Without End is a follow-up to last year’s The Pillars of the Earth, which aired around the world, including in the U.S. on Starz. Award-winning writer John Pielmeier (The Pillars of the Earth) will adapt Follett’s novel for the small screen. Broadcast partners already on board are ProSiebenSat.1, Cuatro, ORF, Sky Italia, Channel 4 and Shaw Media.

“As we embark on World Without End, it´s great to announce that our strategy of bringing cinematic values to television will be led by such an experienced and visionary filmmaker like Michael Caton-Jones,” said Rola Bauer, partner and managing director at Tandem Communications. "Coupled with his vision, this story has wonderful characters that audiences will love taking a journey with.”

Ridley Scott, executive producer, added, "Michael will bring an authoritative and experienced directorial voice to this sweeping epic."
