The Television Academy has made some rules changes for the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards competition, including defining a minimum run time to qualify for the TV-movie category.

The Academy has now set a minimum running time of 75 minutes for a television movie. The 2018 winner in this category, Black Mirror‘s “USS Callister,” would still have qualified, as it was 76 minutes. However, the 2017 winner, Black Mirror‘s “San Junipero,” wouldn’t have been eligible to compete in the category under the new guidelines.

There is also a new category created for outstanding music composition for a documentary series or special (original dramatic underscore), and the choreography category has been split into two—one for variety and reality programming and a separate one for scripted programming.
