LONDON/WARSAW: A localized Nick Jr. channel has been crafted for Poland, in a deal between Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) and Cyfrowy Polsat.

The Polish-language preschool service will air 24 hours a day, commercial free on Cyfrowy Polsat. The channel is targeted at 2- to 6-year-olds, airing shows such as Dora the Explorer, Go Diego, Go!, Ni Hao Kai Lan, Team Umizoomi and The Wonder Pets! alongside Little Bill, Bubble Guppies and Fifi Forget-Me-Not. Nick Jr. is the latest of the VIMN channel brands to launch in Poland, following on MTV, VIVA, Comedy Central, Comedy Central Family, MTVNHD, Nickelodeon, VH1 European and Viacom Blink!.

Bhavneet Singh, the managing director and executive VP of emerging markets at VIMN, commented: “The launch of Nick Jr. in Poland is a landmark for MTVNI’s Emerging Markets group as we look to continue building scale with our kids’ brands and further diversify and develop our portfolio across the region. The youngest Polish viewers and their parents have an insatiable appetite for quality educational content, and we have no doubt that this demand, combined with the worldwide success of the Nickelodeon family of brands and relevant mix of programming delivered in an interactive and innovative manner, will quickly establish Nick Jr. as THE destination for preschool audiences in Poland.”
