Plans Set for Annual Barbara Walters Special

Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2008
, an hour-long ABC News
special the spotlights the year's prominent figures from across entertainment,
sports, politics and pop culture, will air on December 4 at 10 p.m. on ABC.

Hosted
by Barbara Walters, this year's special includes Academy Award-nominee and
Grammy winner Will Smith, 30 Rock's
Tina Fey, political commentator Rush Limbaugh, legendary actor Frank Langella,
teen pop sensation Miley Cyrus and record-breaking Olympic gold medalist
Michael Phelps. Also on the list are Academy Award-nominee Tom Cruise; Thomas
Beatie, the transgendered man who gave birth; and Alaska Governor and former
U.S. VP contender Sarah Palin.

The
number one most fascinating person of 2008 will be announced on the program.
The special, executive-produced by Walters and Bill Geddie, is now in its 16th
season.
