Pinky and Perky Theater Show Planned

LONDON: The piglet duo from The Pinky and Perky Show are set to take the stage in 2010/2011 for a slate of live theater performances.

The West End theater production company Fiery Light will present the live-action stage performances. The Pinky and Perky Show has been airing on CBBC since November, and is due to run on France 3 and ABC in Australia later this year, with sales, handled by Granada International, also confirmed for the Nordic region.

"Pinky and Perky struck us as the perfect show to base a stage production around," said Fiery Light’s executive producer, Martin Ronan. "It’s fun, fast paced and has fantastic characterization. It’s got hit written all over it and we are all tremendously excited about taking Pinky and Perky live!"

Mark Hurry, the legal and commercial director at PPC Enterprises, which holds merchandising and licensing rights in the brand, added: "It’s fantastic to be involved with Fiery Light—they did an incredible job with Lazy Town and I expect Pinky and Perky to be equally popular. This is on top of the success of the TV show and a lot of Pinky and Perky licensing activity—there is a big buzz surrounding these pigs at present!"
