Parthenon Kids Scores Raft of Sales

LONDON: Parthenon Kids has secured a number of deals with broadcasters across the world for titles from its children’s programming catalogue, including City of Friends.

The 26×10-minute seasons three and four of City of Friends, which launched at MIPTV this year, have been picked up by Al Jazeera, HOP! in Israel, Yoopa in Canada, ATV in Turkey and MTV3 in Finland.

The preschool Channel 5 series Castle Farm has been snapped up by the Netherlands’ public broadcaster NPO, while the BBC epic series Roman Mysteries has been taken by ABC in Australia, RTP in Portugal and Brunei TV.

Rounding out the deals, the 52×30-minute series Jakers! has been sold to Turner TV in France and TSR in Switzerland.

Marie Chappelow, the director of global sales and acquisitions for children’s brands at Parthenon Kids, said of the sales: “Working with key broadcasters in established territories demonstrates the continued strength of our programming output. We are constantly on the lookout for great children’s programming and look forward to launching a slate of new titles at MIPCOM later this year.”
