Oxygen Ramps Up Development Slate

PASADENA: Several new shows are in development for Oxygen, as the network adds a second night of original programming to its spring schedule.

Among the series of Oxygen’s 2010 development slate are Fashion Drop (working title), a new game show that incorporates fashion, and Hair Battle Spectacular (working title), a competition series featuring fantasy hair designs. Fashion Drop is produced by World of Wonder (Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, Million Dollar Listing). Hair Battle Spectacular is from 3 Ball Productions (The Biggest Loser, For Love or Money).

Also on the roster is House of Glam (working title), which follows the trendsetting stylists of the B. Lynn Group, whose client list includes Diddy, Naomi Campbell, Rihanna and Jay-Z. The series is a production from Left/Right and The Foundry Media Group. Produced by Megilla Entertainment, Jersey Couture (working title) spotlights a family business that offers over-the-top dresses and caters to special-event needs.

In the way of docuseries, When Charlie Met Sarah (working title) tells the story of Charlie O’Connell (brother of Jerry O’Connell), who appeared on The Bachelor and chose Sarah. Their relationship has been off and on, but now they’ve reconnected and are trying to make it work. The show is produced by Nancy Glass Productions (Kitchen Impossible, Spice Up My Kitchen). These new titles join the previously announced Russell Simmons series tentatively titled The Russell Simmons Project. The show looks at the team of women who are at the center of the entertainment mogul’s businesses.

"We are unveiling a robust development slate filled with new content that expands into a variety of genres and formats," said Amy Introcaso-Davis, the senior VP of original programming and development for Oxygen. "We’re continually listening to our audience and our goal, as always, is to give viewers a spectrum of choice across a diverse lineup of exciting concepts."
