OWN Preps Behind-the-Scenes Oprah Special

LOS ANGELES: The launch schedule for OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network in January 2011 will include a one-hour prime-time documentary that goes behind the scenes of the talk-show host’s long-running syndicated series.

Behind the Scenes: Oprah’s 25th Season will offer a glimpse into the inner workings of The Oprah Winfrey Show in its final season—the series ends its run in September 2011. "For the first time ever, viewers will get to see behind the curtains of The Oprah Winfrey Show," said Christina Norman, CEO of OWN. "Behind the Scenes: Oprah’s 25th Season will document what will be the most amazing season, yet."

OWN is also adding four one-hour series to its development slate: Kid-napped—based on the British format by Love Productions—where kids can "kidnap" a workaholic parent; Miracle Detectives, featuring two investigators, one a believer and one a skeptic, exploring mysterious incidents; Search, which features Pam Slaton aiding people in their search for someone they love; and Sentenced, set at Rockville Correctional Facility, a maximum-security women’s prison in Rockville, Indiana.
