Outright Shores Up European Deals for Fat March

LONDON, September 26: Outright Distribution has secured a
raft of European deals for Ricochet’s 6×1-hour weight-loss program Fat March, which began airing in the U.S. in August on ABC.

The finished program has been sold to Swedish channel TV4,
to be broadcast at the end of this month. The format has also been optioned in
Denmark, Sweden and Norway by pan-Scandinavian distribution and production
company Metronome. And the format has received a 12-episode commission by the Mega
channel in Greece.

The format is based on the hit program Too Big to Walk, which first aired on Channel 4 last November. It
follows 12 overweight men and women as they walk across nine states, from
Boston to Washington D.C., some 550 miles in 50 days.

Chris Bonney, the CEO of Outright Distribution, said: “Fat March is an idea which, as
well being right in tune with the obesity crisis in the U.S., also strikes a
chord with European territories—as these new deals clearly prove. As well
as being great entertainment it’s rewarding to know that it may play a role in
helping people combat obesity.”

Additionally, Outright has sold another Ricochet production,
Extreme Dreams, to the BBC for broadcast
in Africa on BBC Prime and in Asia on the newly launched BBC Lifestyle channel.
The show has also sold to the Fox Reality Channel in the U.S. and The Living
Channel in New Zealand, for broadcast later this year.

The 20×30-minute series, which aired on BBC Two in September
2006, follows five members of the public as they conquer some of the most
extreme environments on a voyage of personal discovery. The second season of
30×30-minute episodes is scheduled to air in late January of next year.
