Online Indie Movie Site Bulks Up Offerings

LONDON: The start-up movie-on-demand site indiemoviesonline.com has acquired more than 50 new films for its library, bringing its total content offering to 500-plus titles. 

Launched in June 2009, indiemoviesonline.com is an ad-supported VOD site that offers free independent films and editorial content. The site has struck new content partnerships with ITV, Firstlook, Screen Media, Cinetic, Hanway Films, Porchlight, Le Petit Bureau and Soda Pictures. Additional films have been secured through existing partners such as Content Films/Fireworks and Content Republic. Current content providers that have already licensed films to indiemoviesonline.com include The British Films Institute, Aardman, Beyond, East West, Elo, Horizon, Koan, Spotlight and Submarine.

New movies licensed to the site include Chopper, Allegro, Reprise, Severed Ways, Mirror Maze, Small Time, Love is the Devil, Funny Ha Ha, Brothers, The Boss of it All, Mutual Appreciation as well as classics like The King of New York, Bitter Moon, House of the Spirits, Death and the Compass and Dark Star.
