Nordisk Sets Up Comedy Venture

VALBY, May 9: Nordisk Film is teaming with three TV and
stand-up comedy personalities to launch Respirator, a new venture dedicated to
creating comedy formats for multiple platforms.

Nordisk is working with Omar Marzouk, Michael Pedersen and Chris D. Nørgaard for the venture, in
which it will own a 50.1 percent stake. Respirator aims to develop properties
for the Dutch and international markets that can be aired on TV, mobile phones
and the Internet.

Jacob
Houlind, the Nordic manager of Nordisk Film TV, will act as chairman of the
board of Respirator. He noted: “The whole comedy area is experiencing rapid
growth globally and the opportunities to combine genres are many. At the same
time, comedy has great potential in relation to the new platforms, as we have
seen with Borat,
for instance. Nordisk Film wants to attract the best creative talents, and this
wish has definitely been granted with Respirator as part of our environment at Nordisk
Film in Valby.”

Respirator
is already producing Tjenesten (The Service) for DR2.
