OSLO: Nordic World has established an exclusive format distribution partnership with Northern Alliance Group, adding more than 20 titles to its slate.

Northern Alliance Group is comprised of Moskito of Finland, Monster from Norway, Gong in Denmark and Sweden’s Baluba. The agreement between the two kicks off with Drop Outs from Norway’s Monster. The show gives ten school drop outs a new chance to return to their educations with the motivation necessary to stay there by using revolutionary techniques and coaching. The format was commissioned by TVNorge in Norway and is slated to launch this fall. Is This Funny is another original concept from Monster, which scored an eight-episode commission from TV2 Zebra in Norway and is close to securing an option in the U.S. The studio-based comedy allows talented people to show off their comedic skills in front of a tough crowd. The "anti-travel show" format Roast the Nation, from Baluba of Sweden, is in the pilot stage for Comedy Central in Sweden. The show scrutinizes the nation, its people, tradition and culture.

Morten Aass, Northern Alliance Group’s CEO, commented: "As the last Nordic owned independent pan-Nordic production group it was very important for us to join forces with a distributor that not only shared our passion for Nordic content but also had the network and skill to secure our formats the best possible exploitation outside the Nordic region. We are extremely confident in having Nordic World handle our international affairs and look forward to be working with them."

Jan Salling, sales director and COO of Nordic World, added: "The Nordic market is seen as one market even though we are four very different countries. Broadcasters and independent producers in this region might be fierce competitors in each of their local markets, but when doing business outside of our home territories we should stand shoulder to shoulder. With a strong and creative company like Northern Alliance Group on board we are a step closer to achieving our vision to unite all independent companies in the Nordic region and secure that Nordic creativity stimulates Nordic Growth."
