LONDON: This summer, Nickelodeon UK is launching the reality show Camp Orange, based on a series from Nickelodeon Australia that is currently shooting its seventh season.

Nick Australia will co-produce the 6×30-minute series, which features four teams of best friends competing in a range of challenges. The eight children are sent from the U.K. to Australia to learn the value of teamwork, trust and fair play. Nick UK presenters Jamie Rickers and Anna Williamson serve as camp directors. Olympic gold medalist Denise Lewis joins the camp directors as a surprise guest and mentor to the group. The winning team will enjoy a luxury trip on board the Norwegian Epic Nickelodeon Cruise around the Mediterranean alongside a line up of Nickelodeon’s stars.

The British version will start filming one week after shooting wraps on the seventh season of Nickelodeon Australia’s Camp Orange.

Lewis said: “I jumped at the chance to be involved with Nickelodeon’s new series Camp Orange. The show instills a sense of fun, adventure and learning in the children taking part and the viewers at home. Throughout my career it has been imperative that I work well with the team around me and I hope to drive home the importance and value of teamwork, trust and fair play in every day life. I’m also excited about my return to Sydney for the first time since winning my gold medal!”

Tina McCann, the managing director of Nickelodeon UK, commented: “We are extremely excited to bring Australia’s award winning series to U.K. kids and families. The show has been a tremendous success and we are anticipating a fantastic response among U.K. audiences. Camp Orange provides kids with the fun and humor they expect from Nickelodeon but also communicates important and valuable life messages.

McCann continued: “The production of this show perfectly demonstrates Nickelodeon’s commitment to programming on a global scale. We are privileged to be in such a strong position.”
