NHK’s Newsline Providing Live Reports from Japan

BOSTON: Japanese pubcaster NHK has been delivering up-to-the-minute information about the ongoing crisis in Japan through Newsline, which is also going out to U.S. public TV stations.

Newsline is fed live several times throughout the day. The program also airs daily on public television’s news and documentary channel World in select markets. In addition to Newsline, the public television feeds have included programs being seen in the Japan domestic market, with simultaneous English translation.

NHK is producing specials and reports on the crisis, including an in-depth analysis of the happenings at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Station, the challenges in protecting power plant workers, as well as critical information for residents and the country at large. On Saturday and again on Sunday there will be specials airing on America’s public TV stations.
