NGTI Seals French Agreements

LONDON: A number of new deals have been signed by National Geographic Television International (NGTI) with French broadcasters, including long-term partner France 5.

France 5 went for The Obama White House: Through the Lens, following the personal and professional life of the U.S. president; World’s Toughest Fixes, the sixth season of the series; and the natural-history titles The Changing Ape, Swamp Troop, Animal Impact, Savuti: Predator Battleground, Return to the Wild Prairie and Gorongosa: Africa’s Lost Eden. Nasca Lines Decoded is a new history title in the package, while science titles include Megastructure Breakdown: Navy Tanker, Journey to Europa and 24 Hours After: Asteroid Impact. France 5 has also been confirmed as a co-production partner on Lost Mummies of Papua New Guinea.

Canal Plus acquired Journey to Shark Eden, Big Sur: California’s Wild Coast, Secrets of the Mangroves and Mystery Gorilla.

A further 34 hours have been acquired through packages with other broadcasters in the country. Arte picked up seven hours, including Inside LSD and Secrets of the Tang Treasure Ship. AB took on 13 hours, including Australia: Land of the Parrots and Eye for Architecture. Planete went for eight hours, including science title Reconstructing T.rex and society show Gun Nation. Ushuaia’s package of six hours includes The Burning Season and wildlife title Chameleon Beach.
