NGCI to Debut New Four-Part Series

WASHINGTON, D.C.,
September 19: National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) will launch the
new four-part series Big, Bigger, Biggest, produced by U.K.-based Windfall Films.

Each of the hour-long
episodes features construction and behind the scenes footage that demonstrate
how the “world’s biggest” are created from the ground up. CGI simplify the
technologies and historical innovations that have made these structures
possible.

Episodes include “Aircraft
Carrier,” which features
the USS Nimitz; “Airport,” which
shows Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5; “Skyscraper,” which examines how an 1890s Chicago building held the key
to 21st century skyscraper architecture; and “Bridge,” which explores how
engineers crafted the world’s longest suspension bridge to withstand typhoons,
tsunamis and earthquakes.

Big, Bigger, Biggest is a celebration of human ingenuity,” said Sydney
Suissa, the executive VP of content for NGCI. “Considering how new to the world
these contemporary marvels are, it is fascinating to see how rapidly they have
increased in size and complexity.”

Carlo Massarella, the
series producer for Windfall Films, said: “Big, Bigger, Biggest showcases the world’s most ambitious construction
projects using ground-breaking CGI animation to explore how these
superstructures were built. We’re proud of the freshness of the series format,
and grateful for the support National Geographic Channels International has
given us making the series.”
