New TV Series to Incorporate Twitter

LOS ANGELES: Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment Partners have teamed up with the online micro-blogging service Twitter to develop the first worldwide TV series to use the social network to guide the action of the show.

The unscripted series will put ordinary people on the trail of celebrities in an innovative competition format. The series will be executive produced by Reveille’s managing directors, Mark Koops and Howard T. Owens; Brillstein Entertainment Partners’ CEO, Jon Liebman; and Lee Kernis, Amy Ephron, Kevin J. Foxe and Steven Latham. Ephron created the concept for the show, which ShineReveille International will distribute as both a format and the finished series.

"Twitter is transforming the way people communicate—especially celebrities and their fans," said Owens. "We are thrilled to be partnering with them to unlock the potential of this groundbreaking technology on television in the first-ever series incorporating Twitter into the action of the show."

"We are looking forward to working with Reveille and Twitter and the amazing creative team on this show," added Liebman. "Never before have people had such immediate access to the lives, interests and opinions of others, and we’ve found a compelling way to bring the immediacy of Twitter to life on TV."
