New Showrunners for Criminal Intent

NEW YORK, August 5: A new
production team has been named for the eighth season of Law & Order:
Criminal Intent
, which will
premiere this November on USA Network with new cast member Jeff Goldblum.

With the series divided
into two distinct parts with different actors making appearances, the
production teams also will be separate. Walon Green will serve as executive
producer, showrunner and head writer, and Michael S. Chernuchin will be
co-executive producer for the Vincent D'Onofrio/Kathryn Erbe episodes. John
Coles will be the New York-based executive producer and director, and
Chernuchin will serve as co-executive producer for the series.

The producing team for the
Jeff Goldblum/Julianne Nicholson episodes includes Robert Nathan as executive
producer, showrunner and head writer. Coles will again serve as the New
York-based executive producer and director with Andrew Lipsitz and Timothy J.
Lea as co-executive producers.

The production team will
work with executive producer and creator Dick Wolf and executive producer Peter
Jankowski, who also serves as executive producer of all three Law &
Order
series and is the president
and COO of Wolf Films.

Law & Order:
Criminal Intent
, produced by Wolf
Films and Universal Cable Productions, veers from the traditional Law &
Order
format by taking viewers
into the minds of its criminals while following the psychological approaches
the Major Case Squad uses to solve the crimes. The seventh season of the show
airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. on USA Network.

Wolf said: “Walon, Robert,
Nooch [Michael Chernuchin] and I have been working together for most of the
last two decades. Between them, they have written hundreds of episodes of the
brand’s various iterations. By joining CI, they are providing the best of both worlds—a new perspective
and a wealth of experience with the brand. John [Coles] is one of the most
respected producer/directors on the east coast. I could not ask for a better
team as we embark on our eighth season.”
