LONDON: The British dramas Footballers’ Wives and Bad Girls from Outright Distribution have been acquired by CBS Chello Zone UK Channels, which also went for a number of U.S. series from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD).

Both Footballers’ Wives and Bad Girls will air on CBS Drama this year. From WBITD, Renegade and Kung Fu: The Legend Continues went to CBS Action, while cult classics Blade: The Series and Brimstone head to the newly rebranded Horror Channel.

Alina Florea, the director of programming for CBS Chello Zone UK Channels, said: “Footballers’ Wives and Bad Girls from Shed Media’s Outright Distribution fit perfectly with CBS Drama’s remit of irresistible modern classics for drama and soap opera lovers; both series have enjoyed huge popularity in the U.K. and we’re sure our audience will be eager to relive their notorious and fantastic story lines from the beginning. Warner Bros. also have a raft of high quality series on their slate and we hope that Blade, Brimstone, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues and Renegade are just the start of a long and fruitful business relationship, with further acquisitions to come for our portfolio of U.K. entertainment channels.”
