New Mobile Entertainment Service Notches Up Content Deals

SAN DIEGO, January 8: MediaFLO USA, a QUALCOMM subsidiary,
used the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas to announce a raft of
deals for its TV-quality mobile entertainment service launching in the first
quarter of this year with Verizon Wireless, including partnerships with CBS
Corporation, NBC Universal, MTV Networks and Fox Interactive Media.

Verizon Wireless’s newly unveiled V CAST Mobile TV, which
will be powered by MediaFLO, “isn't just a place-holder for broadcast
programming on the mobile phone—it is the best of television programmed
specifically for the mobile customer with great programs, the way they were
meant to be seen, on your mobile phone," said John Stratton, the executive
VP and chief marketing officer of Verizon. "Television has revolutionized our culture, and
wireless phones have become an integral part of our everyday lives. V CAST
Mobile TV represents the convergence of these two realities. V CAST Mobile TV
was designed to bring the best programs to customers who enjoy their mobile
lifestyles, creating a truly exciting mobile television experience. The service has something for everyone,
it will be available on hot new handsets, and is presented in a programming
format that's familiar to any TV viewer. This is a real transformation of the
American media market."

The new service will be accessible on new V CAST Mobile TV
handsets via a dedicated V CAST Mobile TV key. The programming will be
presented in "time block"/scheduled availability.

With the CBS Corporation deal, users will have access to
full episodes of popular CBS entertainment, news and sports programming.
Prime-time shows on offer include the three series in the CSI franchise, as well as NCIS, Numb3rs,
Jericho, Survivor and Big Brother. The deal also covers Late Show with David Letterman, Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, The Early Show and 60 Minutes, among
other titles, as well as CBS Sports and CSTV content. Further, MediaFLO users
can tap into classic programming from the CBS library, such as Star
Trek
, Brady Bunch, I Love Lucy, Twin Peaks, MacGyver and Gunsmoke.

The multi-year license agreement with Fox Mobile
Entertainment and Fox Interactive Media brings content from Twentieth Century
Fox Television, Fox News Channel and FOX Sports Interactive to the service.

The MTV Networks agreement covers content from the flagship
MTV: Music Television service, as well as titles from Nickelodeon and Comedy
Central. These include The Real World, SpongeBob

with Jon Stewart

MediaFLO has also licensed news and entertainment offerings
from NBC Universal. The branded news channel will feature live, full-length programs,
including Today, Nightly News
with Brian Williams
and Meet the
Press
, as well as select programming from
both MSNBC and CNBC. On the entertainment front, the channel will offer a
select number of NBC Universal prime time, daytime and cable shows, as well as
the late-night shows The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
