New Entertainment Appointments at the BBC

LONDON, November 9: Jon Beazley has been named as controller
of the entertainment group at BBC Vision Studios, and Karen Smith has been
tapped as creative director of BBC entertainment production.

Beazley, currently the BBC's controller of entertainment
commissioning, will report to Peter Salmon, the BBC’s chief creative officer.

Smith is currently the BBC's creative head of format
entertainment. She will report to Beazley, leading and aligning production and
development across the entertainment brand.

With nearly 5,000 program-makers throughout the U.K. across
drama, entertainment, comedy and factual, learning and children's programs, BBC
Vision Studios is positioning itself as the biggest integrated multimedia
production group in the world when it launches on January 1, 2007.
