New Drama Acquisitions for Trouble

LONDON, September 14: Flextech’s youth entertainment channel
has announced three new acquisitions, including MyNetworkTV’s novela adaptation
Desire, and Fireworks International’s
new Canadian drama Whistler,
airing in the U.S. on The N and on CTV in Canada.

Trouble has also secured a deal for an exclusive seven-day
downloadable preview of the first episode of Whistler.

Desire, acquired from
Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, is a 65×1-hour show based on the
Colombian format Mesa para tres from
Caracol Televisión. It will air daily on Trouble, marking the British network’s
entré into the telenovela genre.

The channel has also bagged the rights to the first two
seasons of Teachers from Channel 4
International.

Celia Taylor, channel controller for Trouble, noted, “It's a
great line up of drama—the fantastic known brand of Teachers, Whistler
which is a glamorous murder mystery genre series and Desire, a totally addictive daily action adventure drama
which is full of romance and passion.”
