MUMBAI: Raj Nayak is to take over as CEO of Viacom’s joint-venture Indian network Colors following Rajesh Kamat’s departure to join Peter Chernin’s CA Media.

Nayak was most recently founder and managing director of AIDEM Ventures, a media consultancy. He previously spent seven years as CEO of NDTV Media. He said of his appointment: "I’ve always admired Colors for the way it changed the landscape of Indian GEC space within a short span. It has got an amazing team of talented people and I look forward to working with them to continue to create newer benchmarks in the industry.”

Haresh Chawla, group CEO at Viacom18, added, “Given Raj’s extensive experience and a proven track record, we are confident of him charting out and leading the next phase of growth for Colors. He will be singularly focusing on consolidating the channel’s position in the GEC space.”
