Netflix Signs NBCU Deals in the Netherlands, Canada

LOS GATOS: Netflix's Dutch service has picked up a raft of NBCUniversal series and films, coming on the heels of a similar arrangement between the two companies secured for Canada.

In the Netherlands, the service has added two seasons of Suits to its offering and three of Downton Abbey. Grimm will become available later this year, along with all seasons of Battlestar Galactica. Bates Motel will join Netflix's lineup in the Netherlands next year. Movies are also part of the deal, among them Knocked Up and The Big Lebowski.

“We’re constantly working to fill our service with the best titles and we are sure that our Dutch subscribers will appreciate these latest additions,” said Kelly Merryman, Netflix’s VP of content acquisition in Europe.

In Canada, Netflix members can also now enjoy Suits and Downton Abbey. Coming in 2014 are Bates Motel, Psych, Covert Affairs, Heroes and Friday Night Lights. Among the features films being added to Netflix in Canada are Bridesmaids, The Change Up and Fast Five.
