Netflix Rolls Out Original Film Initiative

BEVERLY HILLS: Netflix is launching its original film initiative with Cary Fukunaga’s Beasts of No Nation, premiering on October 16 worldwide in all territories where the service is available.

Beasts of No Nation, starring Golden Globe winner Idris Elba (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom), will also debut in select U.S. theaters on October 16, with U.S. film distribution company Bleecker Street teaming with Netflix to distribute the film to theaters.

In addition, The Ridiculous Six will become the first of four Adam Sandler films to be available only on Netflix, premiering exclusively for subscribers on December 11. Other premieres include Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend, which will be released in China theatrically and on IMAX and Netflix worldwide in the first quarter of 2016, and Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, which will debut on Netflix in March 2016.
