LONDON/LOS ANGELES: Deborah Oppenheimer has joined NBC Universal as executive VP of international television production, heading up the newly established Los Angeles base for the division.

Reporting to Michael Edelstein, president of NBC Universal International TV Production, Oppenheimer will lead U.S.-based production activity and strategic TV partnerships for the international marketplace. "We are so fortunate to have someone join our team with such a wide breadth of experience and such impeccable taste," Edelstein said. "Deborah will attract the best and the brightest from Hollywood, because like always attracts like.”

Oppenheimer is a well-regarded producer, overseeing such shows as The Drew Carey Show and George Lopez while at Mohawk Productions. She later worked at Lorimar, overseeing production on feature films, made-for-television movies, mini-series, episodic and half-hour television.
