NBCU International Reorganizes Digital Operations

LONDON, September 25: NBC Universal International has
realigned its digital operations, reorganizing them under two divisions: New
Media Licensing and Digital Assets.

New Media Licensing will be led by Beth Minehart, based in
Los Angeles, who has been promoted to executive VP of international new media
at NBC Universal International Television Distribution. She will add
international electronic sell-through to her responsibilities. She will lead a
sales organization responsible for licensing efforts encompassing all forms of
international new media, including EST, VOD and SVOD, through traditional and
new platforms. Minehart will report to Belinda Menendez, the president of NBC
Universal International Television Distribution, on VOD sales, and Craig
Kornblau, the president of
Universal Pictures Digital Platforms and Universal Studios Home Entertainment,
on EST.

The Digital Assets team will be headed by Kevin Obi, based
in London, who was recently appointed to the role of senior VP of digital
assets at NBC Universal. He will lead the strategy and development of NBC
Universal’s branded digital assets in the international market, reporting to
Roma Khanna, the president of NBC Universal Global Networks and Digital
Initiatives. This strategy includes the creation and expansion of broadband and
wireless assets. The team will also lead digital international alliances across
the business and support any related mergers, acquisitions or investments. Obi
also has a dotted reporting line to George Kliavkoff, the chief digital officer
at NBC Universal.

In making the announcement, Rick Finkelstein, the vice
chairman of Universal Pictures, noted: “These new divisions address the growth
in the digital marketplace. We’ve simplified our operational structure,
resulting in two clear divisions, one for new media licensing and one for
branded assets. We hope this makes it easier for our customers and potential
partners to conduct business with us.”
