NBC’s Peacock Productions Inks New Development Deal

NEW YORK: Peacock Productions, NBC’s nonfiction production outfit, has clinched a development deal with award-winning columnist and author Solomon Jones. 

Jones began his writing career in 1992 while living in a homeless shelter. Contributing to the Philadelphia Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Magazine, he worked his way through college as a doorman, and in the process, completed his first novel, Pipe Dream, which he followed up a year later with The Bridge. He followed those up with the urban mysteries Ride Or Die and C.R.E.A.M. His latest novel, Payback was released in March 2009. Jones has also served as a senior staffer in the Philadelphia City Council and as a spokesman for U.S. Congressman Chaka Fattah. He is also a prolific columnist, focusing on the ups and downs of fatherhood.
