NBC’s My Name is Earl Now Available on Digital Platforms

HOLLYWOOD, February 22: NBC has struck a digital
distribution deal with 20th Century Fox TV for the comedy series My Name is
Earl
that will make the series available
for electronic sell-through on digital platforms such as iTunes and MySpace.

This is 20th Century Fox’s first digital
distribution deal with a third-party broadcast network.

Effective immediately, viewers will be able to download
commercial-free the complete first season of Earl for $37.99 (24 episodes), the complete second season for $36.99 (23
episodes) and individual episodes for $1.99 on platforms such as iTunes,
MySpace/IGN, AOL, Walmart.com and CinemaNow. On iTunes, a 13-minute short of Bad
Karma
will be free with purchase of the
complete first season. Viewers will also be able to stream each of the episodes
of the current second season for free on NBC.com for one week following their
initial broadcast.

In a joint statement, 20th Century Fox TV presidents Dana
Walden and Gary Newman remarked: "My Name is Earl is a perfect comedy for the digital age—it's
youthful, innovative and incredibly funny. Making a deal that extends the
show's reach was important to both companies and will be a huge win for the
show, for its fans and for the new viewers we'll recruit through these
alternative platforms. We're thrilled to see it happen."
