NBC’s George Cheeks & Paul Telegdy Set for NATPE Keynote

NATPE has revealed some highlights for the 2019 conference in Miami, where George Cheeks and Paul Telegdy, the newly appointed co-chairs of NBC Entertainment, are slated to give a keynote.

Cheeks and Telegdy will speak on the morning of Wednesday, January 23. NATPE will also feature a first-time special event led by Tyler Perry titled Living the Dream: A Career in Content, taking place on Monday.

NATPE will see the return of such panels as How Wall St. Watches Television and the Station Group Forum, as well as the 2019 edition of the NATPE Latin American Summit. New sessions include Hollywood Dealmakers, curated by Lionsgate Television’s Sandra Stern. Among other highlights, there will also be a discussion about the future of distribution between Twentieth Century Fox’s Mark Kaner and Turner International’s Gerhard Zeiler.

In addition, NATPE has added three new members to its board: Susanne Daniels, the global head of original content at YouTube; Kathleen Finch, the chief lifestyle brands officer at Discovery Inc.; and Brett Hansen, the head of alternative television at UTA.

JP Bommel, NATPE’s president and CEO, remarked: “Our theme for NATPE Miami this year is Shaping Content Together, which is not just a tagline; it is a worldwide call to action to come to Miami this January, when deals will get made. We are creating sessions, events and curated meetings that will ensure barriers are broken down between those who create, distribute and monetize best-in-class content internationally. We are excited by the voices that will prime the conversation at the year’s first global television summit.”
