NBC Orders More Minute To Win It

STOCKHOLM: NBC has ordered an additional 21 episodes of the game show Minute To Win It, which Friday TV has sold into 34 markets.

Minute To Win It premiered with an 18-episode run on NBC in mid-March. The show has also been sold in markets such as Germany, Poland, Brazil and Turkey. SVT also recently announced that it will air the show in the fall.

"Entering the American market is a dream come true for anyone who works with format development," said Estelle Bodén, the CEO of Friday TV, part of Metronome Film & Television. "Minute To Win It has put us on the map in the States, but don’t forget that we’ve previously succeeded in selling both Single Moms and Clash of the Choirs in the U.S."

Bodén added: "Selling and producing 39 episodes on one of the world’s largest TV channels and selling the rights to the format in a total of 34 countries—all in less than 3 months’ time—is just a huge deal. The key to our success in the USA is, of course, the excellence of the format—but also the fact that Jock Millgårdh and Mattias Olsson are on site in Los Angeles. They’ve been very involved in the actual production, which has been instrumental in the fantastic result. Our success in the U.S. has also been invaluable as we’ve sold the format in other areas of the world."
