NATPE Opens in Miami

NATPE Miami officially opened at the Fontainebleau today, with JP Bommel touting strong attendance from U.S., international and digital content companies and an increase in buyers from streaming and on-demand platforms.

“Attendance is strong internationally, domestically and digitally, with new territories, including the Middle East, North Africa, Central Europe and nine international pavilions” in attendance, said Bommel, the president and CEO of NATPE.

Bommel also pointed to “double-digit growth in buyers from OTT and streaming [platforms]” and the raft of new content available at the market. “There is a great need for new content and it’s all here at NATPE.”

Bommel took to the stage this morning after opening remarks by NATPE board chair Andy Kaplan. “NATPE continues to be at the intersection of content and distribution,” Kaplan said. “Our industry is transforming at a remarkable speed. It’s hard to keep up with the news. As our industry changes, NATPE continues to evolve with it as a must-attend marketplace and conference and as an organization.”
