LONDON: The sports/travel series Endurance Traveler has been picked up by the National Geographic Adventure channel to air in 122 countries across Oceania, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Park Entertainment signed the deal with National Geographic Adventure. This follows its first run on Fox Sports Network (FSN) throughout the U.S. in 2010.

The nine-part first season combines sports with culture, food, drink and travel. The show is led by Dean Warhaft, an athlete, writer, photographer and world traveler. He travels around the world, pushing himself through triathlons and endurance events. He also explores the local cultures and cooks meals with famous chefs.

Warhaft, host and executive producer, commented, "Endurance Traveler is a great fit for Nat Geo Adventure channel because the series is specifically designed so viewers feel they’re not just on a journey, they’re a part of it. The blend of sports, culture, local cuisine and global destinations brings broad appeal, which is important when a series is adopted across multiple regions."
